María Callas en Medea (Cherubini)

25 de agosto de 2007

This is a slide show made with photographs of Maria Callas as Cherubini's Medea, one of her greatest roles. The photos are from Alexis Minotis's production, performed in Dallas (1958), London (1959), Epidaurus (1961) and Milan (1961 & 1962), where Jon Vickers was Giasone. The sound-track is from the studio recording made in 1957, with the Chorus and Orchestra of Teatro alla Scala, directed by Tullio Serafin. Giasone is sung by Mirto Picchi. The pictures were chosen according to the text sung. If you like it, search for my other videos. This is the end of Act I. Indifferent to Medea's supplications, Giasone remains loyal to Glauce (King Creonte's daugther), while Medea concentrates single-mindedly on vengeance
